Its been raining no stop here for the last two days, reminds me of home haa
A fews days back we went into a school to look at their library and they needed some book shelf dividers, so we decided to make some, 30 of them, they've just had their final lick of paint and are drying in the garage ready to be put in tomorrow, we've also got some curtan rails to put up there, then we need to go curtan hunting.
We also went to the Hillcrest Aids Charity Trust today and painted one of their offices/consultation room type thing, just going back in the morning to put it all back together nice and tidy.
Then next on the to do list is buy and put up blackboards, do the photography for the Trust, and do some work at the orphange, will be a busy 10 days, i'd quite like to stay here longer :(

Happy Birthday Nelson Mandela
Following up from the post about those people coming to feed the kids, well they turned up.
Brought with them crazy amounts of Chicken Byrannai and juice, they also bought along speakers and put on a mini party, it was quite a day, all the kids looked very happy and a great start for their new term.
We've also finished the ceiling with only a few minor touch ups to finish tomorrow.
Ohh and they also agreed to donate 100,000 Rand about £9,000 to the school :D
Well mainly to the room that we were doing up already (although that money will take our work a lot lot further) the only condition is that there has to be a 'Sponsored by ........' above the door, but i think everyone will be able to live with that, the room with be turned into a proper choir room, with a mini stage, part of the idea being that CD's can be sold to raise more money for the school, basically creating on going income.

Been a bit busy
Sorry about the lack of updates, had a busy week.
We've starting putting up the ceiling in the Township school, and will be going in Tomorrow and sunday to make sure its all finished off for Monday when the kids come back to school.
We're gonna hire in a plasterer once we've got it all done, labour is quite cheap out here, and plasting if summin none of us have ever done before.
Also bit of a strange story, we where at the township school on Wednesday just the 3 of us (no teachers or kids as its half term) when a Jaguar XF pulled in, which left us confused, but it turned out to be 3 people from a company called 'Access Africa' i think it was, who for Nelson Mandela day wanted to basically bring food to feed all 1,200 of the pupils, they asked us to put a profile of the school together so we wacked that together, sent it off, and they say they'll be there on Monday probs along with a photographer or two to boost their PR, but it'll make a great change to the rice type thing they get normally, which sadly for many of the kids is their only meal of the day.
Hopefully it'll all work out, will let you guys know.

Also we met a guy Called Steve from Middlesbrough who David Tims knows very well, and works with out here. Steve lives in an orphanage in the Vally and once we've finished this job at the school we're going to start work at the orphanage, and get some toys etc etc.

First off i'd like to thank everyone that donated before, during and even after my fund raiser event, a grand total of around £1400 was raised, i'm saying around cos i'm still being donated money from people i bump into.
So a masssssssive thank you to everyone.
Secondly, i'm not a fan of blogs, as many of them are just people rambling on about pointless stuff, BUT this one has a good point to it, as i want everyone to be able to see how their money was spent.
I went a bought myself a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T200 (off a bloke with a 80s E24 M6 <3) so i can leave the DSLR and take this everywhere with me, and that'll be a 'Sorry i went away so long' pressent for my mum when i'm back.
I arrive in South Africa on Thursday and once i'm there will be getting in touch with the Charity and they'll start dishing out the Jobs.

None of it is going on my flight/food/accommodation/car hire/petrol.
